She couldn't recall in any detail
the few small love affairs of her life.
But she did remember when the stud pig
was brought to her parents’ farm,
how, after its work, it lay
in the sty and sound of blue rain.
How it ran its snout up and downΒ the fine hairs
on the sleeping round of the sow's neck.
