Today I ran six miles you see
It was me, the trees and the people who smiled brilliantly.
And as I ran in much delight
Sun shined in my eyes
On my face
My shoulders warm from its embrace.
Joy has doubled down from all the heartaches and heartbreaks I’ve found.
Life is as simple as this run.
From who I was to what I am and what I’m not.
At age 45 –  its kinda all alright.
People like me don’t need much you see
We are lost in life’s web
And we often times forget our head.
We move with ease and do as we please
Smelling the flowers as we stride.
Millions walk by like stepping stones
So we try
Helping those in need when they cry.
That’s how its posed to be
Age and all from you to me
Older, more a sense for finesse
A patience and less stress.
Three more miles to go
And I laugh at those who never showed.
Those hearts who are blind
Leave genuine love behind
Those in such a short time
Will never find
A love like mine.
