(Beyond the waters)

I look to the sky and cried
but I will be okay
I had thought I had died
but it's just another day

I talked to my father today
as I always do
he said the sun won't stay away
and your time will soon be due

As I stand on the edge of a life
with nowhere to go
In one hand I hold my knife
the other my soul

His words echoed in my head
as I stared across the sea
I know I am not dead
but what's in store for me

I see hope beyond the waters
As the storm withers away
I cherish the words of my fathers
that I will shine another day
