Only on week days when the sunshines
Do I chat to my Evelyn about all times
She has mouthfuls of honey and yogurt
Reading new words in her school book.

What is it to stop and watch the day break
Misty on window frames, dewey in grass
To see a young life take a step into this day
Secure in her treasures the drawing she made.

Love Grandma **
