Sep 2019
suddenly tossed into confusion
shaken like a dusty rug my ears start ringing
caught by wild waves, drowning, gulping,
looking for life but where's up and where's down and-
slamming SLAMMING
splattered against the glass
crystal clear marred by deep red dripping
gut-punched by mother nature's brutal fist
eyes hazy but they look behind the wheel -
through the crimson tinted mirror -
locking with my own
the windshield wiper scrapes
   screaming, hoarse
scrapes
   sobbing, defeat
scrapes

drops my leaden body to the asphalt
muddled in misery curled up in my head
time flies, but my wings are broken
