Within the Hourglass

I stand and watch the hands of Time, And beg them not to stray, For upon your lips I bare a kiss, That Time will speed away. I count the seconds, And watch the minutes pass, For life is just blinked away, When you live inside the hourglass. My end is nearing, Time does not wait, The darkness is at my door, But by your command there it stays, But for a second, one second more. Think not of what might have been, Dwell not upon the past, Live not amongst our memories, Watch not the hourglass. For I shall remain in spirit, Deep within your heart, Forever you will find me there, Even once we part. I live amongst your hours, I count your minutes past, Life is just blinked away, When you live inside the hourglass.
