The eyes of these four walls
Comforts the muscles on my fingers
Like a sweater in the fall
While I write words that linger
On this blank piece of paper
That shouldn’t be about you
These arteries clog with every thought
Of our admiration so anew
An emotion I never realized I sought
Tearing this sheet in two
Symbolize a goodbye that’s overdue
Hoping these feelings undo
For I am well askew
As the rain falls from the sky so blue
And the clouds bury the beam’s sightly view
To remind my shadows I should not pursue
To keep on writing about you
