Blue becomes monochrome
painted across a sad tableau
from one side to the next
except where public gaze applies

these flashes absent of the hues
is not enough to compensate
for the drowning in the sea
filled with azure of all degrees

still the remainder present a nod
a rainbow glittering sudden hints
presented with a knowing wink
as the mask is then denied

as the spectrum sadly fades
it’s not enough to compensate
when the sky has turquoise tears
blurred to gray in last dismay.

The poem “Blue Becomes” was inspired by a particularly sad morning.    During the same time there was an expectation of being productive.  The result reminds me of Eiffel 65’s song “I’m Blue”.
