As I stand here at the ocean shore
I stand alone once more

It's been 4 years
That  I've been doing this

I wish I had you next to me
someone to kiss

I'm watching the sunrise
for the first time
in years

Feeling loneliness
sometimes I wonder why
I'm even doing this

What's the reason for
being here?

I came here to be closer
rather then be afar

I can't stand  with you
or to have you by my side
There's nothing I can do
Except hide

I know there's more to life
Than just being strangers
to each other
amongst the crowd

I watch couples hand-in-hand
walking by
I feel  barely alive

To watch the sunrise
in the sky
a little higher
A new day begins
it's 5:30 a.m.
I'm not feeling tired

So I sit here and watch
the waves
it's low tide
they're
moving away

During the beginning of
this new day
The seconds turn
into minutes
the minutes turn
into hours

Sitting on this beach
in a lonely but
peaceful array

Wanting you here
with me
wishing it wasn't
this way

To be sharing the sand,
cherishing  the view, also
the sounds of the
crashing waves

As a couple
not strangers on this
beautiful summer day

I can go on and on
about the way that I feel
It's not going to make
a difference
Even if you're home
or away

Knowing nothing's going
to change
For This stranger relationship
I'ts all going to remain
the same

  Undercover
just like some other face
in the crowd

You know who I am
as I'm sure
they do as well

To be aware of me and
not to be seen
with you

It's over now
I have nothing more
to say.
