Acting like a clown, just to hear her laugh
The sound of it is melodic, but she pities him on his behalf
Still he tries, offering the thoughts on his mind
She smiles and thinks he's kind

Late at night they always talk
Early at dawn they always walk
Carrying her stuff is a burden he likes
Just so they can go on many more hikes

Holding the umbrella, so she doesn't get wet
In his heart, she'll never have to owe him a debt
On that morning, when the rain falls slow
Her beauty is stunning, and is reflected in the water below

What he doesn't realize, for love has made him blind
Is that her heart pays him no mind
Her head was in fact turned the other way
To gaze at someone else across the pathway
Her heart was for another, and it tore him in two
He thought that his love had been true

But love has made him blind, so he continues to be kind
If only to be close to her, he has made himself confined
Yet deep in his mind, he still does not care
Because when he sees her, no one else can compare.
