Twas upon depleting
Harrowed, spent
and doomed to fleeting
That I took my hand in meeting
fate at my front door

Unto the depths
in man’s behest
to mother nature
sworn

I tarried there
in reverie
alas,
in spite of beckoning
and snowfall coated me
in heat deserting energy

And so, to cool internally
to concentrate in synergy,
did I waver, wary
of a hot head
and seek to gather
my thoughts instead

Brightly basking
in effulgence
Dissenting from the dark
which expels its very essence
hazy days, foglight stark
