Hosting a party in a hotel room
is partly why I'm not as hydrated as I should be.

Parting waves under a durag to helps shape my hair
left me owning hot oil and sandpaper.

Maybe later I'll be okay enough to say that I'm in love
But showing up like how I am is unforgiving,
So I'd rather shrug off nature and notions
owing to outlying litters of
frogs, fish, and finality.
