They say Invaders
come in UFOS,
and beams of light.

But from what I know of the universe,
they slip into our hearts silently,
breathing descriptions of places our minds have yet to wander,
placing hushed kisses against blushing skin.

Eyes directed towards the stars,
lips numb with words unsaid,
I fell in love with you that night.

Safe below in our understanding of the meant to be's,
and the what ifs,
we managed to escape the invasion.
Hands wrapped tightly together,
clinging to the hope,
that we'll all be saved.
