May 2019
By Jennifersoter Ezewi

Their day is here again
To feed us with the joy
Of livelihood
Before these special gifts
We cannot create
But nurture and love
When they are given
To us as seeds
So delicate to behold
With a mandate of duty
So assigned to reject
From cradle to fruition
Which puts smiles on
Our faces when they
Run around with the energy
Of words calling Mama and Papa
To attend to their needs.
This poem discusses the importance of children in our lives and our duty to care. It does that to remind us of their day ( 27th May).
