Black as night,
Dark as hate,
Deep as oceans,
Big as sun;
They mock me,
laughing in anger,
smiling at my sorrow.
Twitching ever so slightly,
I imagine even a glimpse
a slight light,
emitted a twinkle
or a star
of contentment.
But then it disappears,
a fragment of my
imagination.
They are pools
into the past:
hiding all their
good times,
memories,
love,
underneath.
