Dearest family,
feel no discomfort at my demise
write no epitaph for my grave
scratch my name
on no remembrance page
grieve not for me
for I was always nothing.

Ensconced in my
warm comfort lounge
I have followed footsteps
of people, brave
scaling heights, no human should endure
weep no tears for me
for I was always nothing.

Never a general,
have I been nor lowly rank and file
marching ruin over peoples lives
branding them enemy
bombing enemies innocents, not me
do not cry for me
for I was always nothing.

Hard, I have toiled
for business men,
who saw no worth in me
honest and true,
a life long economic fool,
do not pray for me
for I was always nothing.

Loved for my life
loved all my life
my wife, my family, remember me
I belong only to you
for you all, have made me something
forget me world
for I was always nothing.
