It is another sleepless night But tonight I hear the sky Calling out my name Maybe it was her voice That had been denying me my sleep
It is supposed to be a familiar scene As I emerge from the same house And onto the same street But Iβve never seen the trees Dripping poetry like they are tonight
The stars travel their lifeβs worth To shine for me tonight They bring with them my memories As I recall the different men Who have lived under my name, under these stars
I give the stars one more man tonight Sitting on the curb Under the orange street light And for a moment I foolishly think That this man is alone
But with my head tilted back To see those loving stars With open arms and open palms I see that beauty and feel that love And I know that we are one
