The weather grows warmer
Yet my heart
Frozen, stripped of the love
That once held it together

I long for the comfort
I so recently felt
Your mild green eyes
I’d pretend not to melt

I crave the sensation
Of your lips against mine
Frozen in time
I nearly beg
Beg you to stay
Stay with me everyday

Each moment passing
Slow, like molasses
We

The weather grows warmer
But I, increasingly cooler
Vulnerable now
Hoping to find peace
Again, in my solace and
In my independence
