A Broken Lie.

by MadisonWright

Your smile is a broke lie, watching you break, seeing your dreams die. The mirror tells you how to scream, a muffled wail, masks how things seem. Why can't you see the wings, bolted to your back, you only see the demons and the heart that's turning black. My love, Oh my heart, soul, and desire. I will hold your melted wings protect you from the fire. If Icarus flew, with an umbrella over his head, would his wings have melted? Would he struggle, dead? I will break my wings, walk with you, be with you, talk with you. I will shatter the mirror. for it tells you wrong. you are a miracle, worthy, strong. I plead with you now, open your eyes, see that your beauty, never dies. My arms will be open fall into me, see the wonderful things that I see. If for one minute, I could give you my eyes, you'd look in the mirror, not suffer, but smile. But, Your smile is a broke lie, watching you break, and painfully, seeing your dreams die.
