it is
the upside
moments
that I
remember
most about
you,

when I
see you
and  I
never know
quite what
to say,

like a child
standing
giving a

presentation
in front of
their class
for the first
time.

I mumble
stumble through
my words
and then
go off

and laugh at
myself
for awhile.

you tell
me about
your family
and work
things that
you really
don't like
to do.

and all the
while I
am thinking
how fortunate
anyone is
who in
that day
gets to sit
and talk
with you
awhile..

with their
upside
down feelings
and smiles
on their
faces.

looking back
at you
like it was
the first time
that they
ever saw
your face.

trust me
when I say
for I
have felt
the moment
often,

when they
have fallen
under the
canopy
of your
eyes.

there is really

no place else
that they
or I
would rather

be.
