When I hear that electronic chirp of sophisticated miniature machinery
I get excited because I think its you
I shouldn't
I have a momentary notification of
heavy disappointment when its not
You poke around my brain
There is no reason for me to feel this way
I know only artificial rays of light entering your eyes
You shouldn't hold such high status in mine
I am nothing to you in actuality
and you should be nothing to me
