cats really like it
when you pass them,
unchallenged by
the topic of petting,

you pass a cat attempting
to fathom sleep
on one of the tiers
of a suburban english
house,
and you "forget"
to pet them...

             you're basically
passing an inanimate object,
that has a subject-consciousness
that fakes the inanimate
ontology,
  having allowed
itself a transcendence
from a dichotomy
toward a dualism.

i like cats,
i sometimes wish i had
an alsatian,
a rottweiler or a dobermann...
but then...
i don't like the idea
of a leash...
or a muzzle...
and then...
cats tend to be able
to take their own
cocerns for
their toiletry practices...

sure, dogs would be
great, much better than
girlfriends...
but then with cats,
i can chance myself
ignoring them...
and i much prefer that
sort of dynamic.
