your heart
rests at
God's side,

the beating
is deep and
full measure.

I dance
in and out
of your
smile,

like a
child playing
in the
sprinklers
under a
hot summer
sky.

your hair
falls across
your face
in gentle
arcs of
grace and
fall colors,

and as
time
moves by

I wish again
upon your
eyes,

that we
could be
12 and
summer
would never
end,

and that
the cool
splash of
facet water
would last

forever.
