Why is it we strive so hard
To increase our earthly possessions
We see we want we buy
It seems to be an obsession

Of the many things we have
How many of them do we truly need
Do we just try to obtain
To satisfy our greed

These many things we own
They may glitter they may shine
But soon they lose their luster
As quickly turns the hands of time

Then we become dissatisfied
With the previous things we got
And seek to fill that empty place
With some new thing we've  bought

The years they pass, time comes and goes
We are surrounded by our wealth
But among the many things we own
We find no love no family no health

To late we discover we have laid up treasure
Treasure of an earthly kind
Of things that have no meaning
How could we have been so blind
