what happened to poetry?
of a mysterious nature
what happened to poetry of a joyous perception

when did our thoughts become so Disgruntled
that all we write of
is
love and hate
being one

what happened to stories,
that showed us
images in our head

wheres our modern day
Edgar Allen Poe
or
our William Shakespeare

it strikes me with grief to be a part
of the poets who play sad records
and shine no sun through my poetry

what happened to me?
