I write to you today, my dear,
Upon this stool of toad
I write to you today, my love,
To tell of wishes owed

I wish for you to come back home,
I wish it to be soon
I wish to see your eyes again,
Shining like the moon

I wish to feel you lips on mine,
Tender skin so soft
I wish you were to lay with me,
In this drafty loft

I wish to see your body dance,
In tempo next to mine
I wish that you would write me back,
Or even send a sign

But these wishes that I wish upon
That star so way up  high
Never reach the star's bright face
And quickly fall and die
