Feet of stone, how can I step forward?
I can see the faint cracks creeping up the sides,
There's moss, been there a while,
I lift my leg,  but there is only pain,

Bright rays of light warm my face,
and far off I can see the ocean,
I want to go there, everything
feels too dry,

my voice is sand falling out of my mouth
and raining down onto my feet
the sand climbs higher
and still....
I cannot move my feet
