As I look upon the image
Of a face I have never known
I ask "What story might I see,
If your life to me we're shown?

Were your sorrows just as mine
Your troubles and your trials
Did the same things bring you joy
And laughter along with smiles

Now you are just a ghost
Yet in this image I can see your face
A life from a distant past
A story from another place

My story to will someday hide
In an image one may behold
As one like me looks into the face
Of a man from long ago
