Aching, waiting
for my friend to arrive
whom I have missed
for so many nights
off to visit a foreign land
off to visit her loving man

I'm not sure what
I miss most
her smiling face
her button nose
her cheerful humor
her cutting prose
but there is one thing
I know for sure
the time has been long
with out her here
