On stage they cheer and chant my name,
In the wings I hear their calls,
But it's all in my head, it's all in my mind;
And the streets are bland, deathly, unkind;
But I hear the chants of adoring fans
As I fret about life and transparent wedding bands.

I feel no joy but in that spot, centre stage.
And I have no relief, except right here, on this page.
