i burned up in a house fire
with a home made of cardboard
the floor made of grass
i want cotton on my ankle
can he hold me please
can me be gentle with my shattered pieces
i know you can be
i miss you from three feet away
and if i fall asleep
before i can tell you i’m proud
i’ll just tell you
tomorrow.
jcl. the smell of smoke four hours away from where we used to be.
