Slow Poison...
She left me
At the best possible time
In the worst possible way,
About to take another step
Smile on my face
Hope in my heart,
Without a trace
Like snapped apart,
Her scent lingering
No sign she meant
To wipe away her presence,
I'm faltering for a foothold
Shock frozen in mid air,
Unable to acknowledge
Even when I refused
To accept her existence,
Abrupt like a sudden
Splash of cold,
Awakened
Disheartened,
Breaths escaping me
In heaves stutters,
Not a scream will come
Not a word from my lips,
Not a soul will know
The pain seeping
Through my veins
A slow poison
Taking it all away;
Hope it's soon...
