The Case...
I've come out one pothole
Just to fall in a deeper hole,
I had dusted myself; gained my composure
Thought everything right; I was so sure,
But here I am now a broken man
I've fallen again; this was not my plan,
A fool was I to think
That I would not again reach the brink
Of insanity; of being without reason
By my heart I have fallen to treason,
No one but I could know better; love is blind
But my eyes have been gouged clear from behind,
Is there no end to my stupidity?
Sadly I can only feel pity
Not just for my being
But also for my heart for not seeing,
That the world is cold; cruel; desperate,
You ask why I address my heart as separate;
Yes; because it thinks of its own accord,
My mind thinks in one direction its own lord
But it cannot control the reigns of my heart;
Let loose; a scared horse; two entities apart,
My heart yearned for affection
My mind followed paying no attention,
And I fell; a sucker for a pretty face,
But she was not worthy; such was the case,
Yet I have not reached my true ending
This lesson is neither lost nor pending,
I shall take myself out of this situation
Break free from the incantation,
And I'll put myself together once more
Stepping out into the world leaving my hurt at the door...
