I don't think it's death that scares us.
I think it's the possibility of not being able to say goodbye,
The possibility of never seeing that person again,
Or the possibility of never hearing their voice.
We fear the unknown.
It's practically written into our DNA
And death..
It's the one thing no one can run from.
We never know how or when it will happen,
We don't know if we'll have any unfinished business when we pass,
And we don't know for certain if there's an afterlife.
It's that uncertainty that makes us so frightened
And it's knowing that one day will be our final.
