The first time I laid eyes
on You,
I stood rooted
as though my heart has flown away.
Your form
like silken thread
wrapping around me
like the wild tendrils of my hair
Oh such profound sadness!
echoing inside me
A gentle thrumming drum
like a half empty wine glass
I am full
bled full of diamonds.

I've known you all my life
though I may not touch you
or kiss you;
You are here-
in the distance of nearness,
Your voice in the stillness
never wavering
like a little red bird
flying in the sea breeze
calling me home.
