The fetus grows from conception
but it doesn’t enter the real world
after nine months.
For eighteen years it grows there
unborn, the mother growing
weaker and weaker
until she dies, and with her,
her manchildbaby.
Dedicated to the annoying barrage of pro-life websites that spammed Google when I was doing some research; they have nothing to do with the poem's meaning.
