Jan 2019
lying horizontal in a still gloaming night
my thoughts
twirl, leap, and skip
like a ballerina
towards your face

you are an oriental lantern and my fireflies have been burnt into charred crisps by your jet almond eyes

i see your
dainty lips the color
of a rosy lavender sunset
melting into a peach dimple
my imagination slinks into
that fruity curve tasting your
taffy simper

swimming in the unconscious
ocean, REM tides tug me
to your sterling laughter
and drown me in your ebony hair splashing
down onto slim malty shoulders

My swan,
Your beauty leaves me stranded
on an island
breathless and drowning
I lovingly collected every second of it
in glass jars
and sent them floating on
rhyming tides to shore
hoping you would find it
