I loved you,
But you made me past due;
My unconventional ways
Were too old school for your taste,
Don't you know?
Shakespeare; Hamlet?
Those were the times,
Love was more than four letters,
So much more than features
So much more than appearances,
But you are of the new age,
Physical and superficial;
How do you look?
How do you stack up to all the others,
This is your concern;
You probably don't even know,
What it is to be loved
To be safe under a lover's care,
To know he thinks of you
Day and night priority,
Give his life truly,
But this may mean nothing to you,
Curled up in your little box,
Something bigger than you'll ever imagine...
