Eign Morn

Brave little robin,
Strident breasted,
Gilded in courage
Struts against the cruel steel of the north.

Kingsfisher Knight,
Aquamarine dash,
Lethal splash, strikes
Through moist mist whispers on ponds.

Determined ducks,
Arrowed against austerity,
Sweep surely out;
Scything sharply beneath cloy clouds.

Careful coot,
Cowering under overhang,
covets cache,
In languid reeds with haste hidden.

Managed man
Meanders among majesty,
Out of scene,
Observing gentle, cyclic savagery.
Eign is a small place near the river Wye in Herefordshire England.
