Dec 2018
Overcooked meat slid under the table,
Crumbs vacuumed by furry friends.

Clashing of wine glasses,
Commencing cheers across grateful guests.

The exchange of laughter blissfully intertwined,
Like paths of strangers graciously crossing.

Bumping hands under the table,
Keeping physical contact to freshen the air.

Moments like those come and go,
Like waves pressed against the dense sand.

Leaves caught and carried by the wind,
Dropped off without a goodnight kiss.

Onto the next season it is,
Forgetting the thankful presence of loved ones.
