Sipping black coffee
The way he likes it,
She would know.

Keeping her eyes steady on her device-
Headphones closing off the surroundings.

Flashback seven days prior,
Commencing on a Friday.

Tickling the curves of her hips,
Fulfilling the sensation of her laughter.

Vibrating through his ears,
Streaming out his eyelids,
Sinking into the dimples of joy
That spread across her angelic face.

His spine stretched against the sheets
Intertwined with her legs covered by nothing.

She traces constellations
Full of freckles resting upon his chest.

His lips inviting,
Taking in her consuming thoughts,
Those that one would write only in a diary,
Kept away under a bed.

She should have known not to trust those lips,
Far too loose for her fragile heart.

The characteristics of a stranger
Lie tattooed across their hands
As they reach for their coffee cups.

Seven days is all it took,
Now they can’t even exchange a look.
