I sat there broken, beaten, and blue.
Pain pulseing through every heartbeat; another clue.
In an attempt to numb my pain,
I numbed all my senses the same.
Till one day I realized, one day I reminisced,
Of times when I felt whole with you, with not a piece amiss.

But what can I do in this time of crisis?
Times in which I cry the hardest.
Until no more tears can fall.
No energy left for this emotional brawl.

All I can do is attempt to put to rest,
This poisoned heart behind my breast.
I let go, until it heals.
But in letting go,
Did I forgot how to feel?

Feel anger, love, passion, desire.
I let my love for you become the sole fuel for my heart's pyre.
And without you there's nothing left to do but wait to expire.

The fire called love burned this heart to black.
I don't think I'll ever get my beating heart back.
