In Darkness I lay
Thunderstorms in my head
Raining their doubts and insecurities
Thundering their lies
No shelter from the rain
Nowhere to go
The only thing to do
Wait out the storm

Drenched
I feel no better
For the storm has done its job
Numb from the coldness
No emotion to be felt
Consumed in darkness
Hopelessness taking root

The storm clears
No thunder to be heard
The clouds part way
No rain to be felt
And there I see it
A rainbow in the distance
A promise to mankind
Hope for a better day
