I thought you could accept love from me
i thought you too could love me
i thought there was more
i thought we could be more

We were so close, really close
but i fell in love with you, a lovely rose
i confessed to you and said i love you
but all you said was i was just a friend for you

Since then we never talk
the closer i am, the farther you walk
since then i regretted everything
everything that happened since i said these things

What i should have said was i love you as a friend
but deep in my heart you will never be just a friend
