Through a ghoulish patch of woods
I walk alone and shiver
I'm not sure what hides behind each tree
Or what lies in the river

There are candles neatly lit
Upon the branches of each tree
Fairies must have left them there
To light a path for me

Suddenly I hear a mournful howl
The wind blows the candles out
I am left here in the dark
Not sure what evil lurks about

I hear movement in the trees
The hair stands up upon my head
What I can't see, can see me
The unknown is what I dread
