I remember the day I cried,
because I saw on tv the girls
my age, audition for the nutcrucker
ballet girls, tied in pink.
And that meant that I'd have no time to rehearse
And that meant that I'd not be able to teach myself,

*And I didn't even have those shoes
that they wear.
