You chose to go on the road alone
Dissapeared into the darkness
Isolated yourself
Refused to listen

You think running as fast as you can
Is the best you can do
You think a passenger
Will only slow you down

Are things the wrong way around
In your own world
Your own perspective
You keep stubornly staring at

But even moving at the speed of light
You can't run away from the truth
The lies and you've been leaving in your tracks
Will catch up to you

I welcomed you into my heart
Tried to make it a home
For your restless soul
But you only passed through

When you were tired
My arms tried to hold you
Tried to comfort you
Through the dark nights

Tried to make a warm fire
But you kept opening the door
Letting the cold wind and rain in
Until even the embers died out

I never wanted to let you go
But you didn't give me anything to hold onto
