Black and White

when I dream, I dream in color

rainbows every which way

and always looking on the better side of things

but when I wake up

I'm filled with the bitter reality

of my black and white existence

bored with life

feeling down and out

I am the blank pages

in a coloring book

waiting to be filled

with a rush of color

a dark cavern

that has yet to see the light

and an ugly mushroom

that grows in the cold

come adventure with me

and paint the walls of my reality
