daffodils
walking face down
dripping in sunlight

held a funeral
sans the mistake
of crying
too far
too long

dandelions—
rose colored
oranges—

she smiles to
the missing context

slits
severs
severe

listless

and

unafraid

the entire world
felt like it was
staring down at me

or am i
really the
pettiest
man alive?

she hides her face
and whispers
something so
inaudible

—like sorry—

something so
incomprehensible

—like forgive me—

and i
truly am sorry
but it is not
repentance
as long as she
can still smile.

as she blurs
in the corner
of my eyes...
