The walls of your church should not divide
Your "God" gave us free will, for that, his son died
You treat her as though your messiahs words meant nothing
She is no plague, but your precious daughter
Treat her not, as a lamb to slaughter

Since when did faith become a requirement?
Don’t you preach love like a broken record?
Why cast her in the dark like you don’t care?
There may be many shadows, but I’m still there
You know not what you do
With every word against her, you’re only distancing the gap
Until it becomes a chasm, and then you won’t get her back

This is exactly why I choose to deny
No family should bring these tears to their daughters’ eyes
You know, I never thought that God existed
But if He did, I hope he’d be ashamed of you
Family is supposed to stick together
You need to get your priorities straight
Keep her close, scold her not, please don’t give her a reason to hate

And gorgeous, listen to me, you are not alone
You’re always welcome, you can call this place home
My arms are always open, like theirs claim to be
They’re upsetting you, now it’s effecting me.
